Imagine Tomorrow

Supporters

I want to volunteer.

Student teams may have questions as they develop their projects for the Imagine Tomorrow competition. Questions may range from specifics (i.e., I’m building a Web site, can you give me some specific help?) to more general (i.e. Can you tell me where to find resources that will aid me in doing research on my challenge?). If you are willing to assist our student teams, please tell us about yourself by answering the questions below.

Volunteer Code of Agreement

I agree to follow all of the following guidelines associated with participation in Imagine Tomorrow. I give permission for Imagine Tomorrow to provide my contact information to selected interested students and advisors, unless otherwise noted. I am aware that my name, e-mail address, and area of expertise may be posted on the Imagine Tomorrow Web site for viewing by teachers and students who have entered the 2008 competition.

For the protection of students and myself, I agree that, if meetings are scheduled, they should take place within normal business hours, with other employees present, either at my workplace or at a supervised school location. In the event of a meeting at a small business or a similar situation in which the student and I might otherwise be alone, I will require that the student’s parent or advisor be present.

If a visit to my workplace is scheduled, I will make appropriate arrangements in accordance with the guidelines of my company/organization, including providing the student with any necessary paperwork. I will check to see that all necessary permission forms have been completed. I will inform students of any safety guidelines related to the workplace. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from my workplace and are not to accept transportation from me or other advisors or meet at off-site locations other than the student’s school.

This agreement is based on guidelines from the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research (NWABR) and from the knowledge and insights of competition organizers.

By checking the Volunteer Code of Agreement box, I give permission for Imagine Tomorrow to conduct a Washington State Patrol background check on my criminal history. I understand that I will also need to complete and sign an authorization form.
